Old Post from August 3

Day 1

We woke up and were excited to get to the airport and everything went smoothly.  We had a few bags overweight but we were able to shift some stuff around to get them compliant.  Our flight was a little delayed but it was only 10 hours which is the shortest I've ever traveled.  We had a great flight with ANA Airlines and they even had the small television in the back of the seat with movies and games on demand.  It helped make the flight time pass by quicker.

When we got to Narita Airport, we were able to get through immigration and customs pretty quickly, even with EIGHT bags.  They didn't even open one bag.  Lucky!  They have a baggage service at the airport that ships your bags to your house the next day so we paid for that which is really nice.  We then took the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station (which was amazingly crowded) and made our way to our hotel called the Tokyo Terminal Hotel.  The rooms were so small but we didn't care because we were so tired.

We were so happy to see our sister-in-law Chiharu and our niece Christianna for dinner and Rachel's wish for our first meal in Japan was ramen so they found a really nice ramen shop in Tokyo Station's Ramen Street that had a bunch of ramen shops.  We had miso ramen which was soooo good and so much better than Cup O Noodle.

We then made our way back to the hotel and our first day in Japan finally came to an end.
