We had a nice little earthquake last night. I was upstairs and felt it but Joanna and Alex were downstairs and didn't feel a thing. They thought I was crazy!

Are We in the Hobbit Hotel?
We're staying in Yokohama tonight because Alex Polikaitis has
his ACT's tomorrow. I think we found the hotel with the smallest doors ever!

Sakura
We had thundershowers and yet wanted to go see the cherry trees before they all fell off. Januck and I drove around the neighborhood and decided to stop at this temple. I remember coming here before for a hanami, which is a picnic under the blooming trees many years ago with some teacher friends.
A man came up to us and and said he would take the photo and frame it nicely in the entrance way of the temple. As I handed him my iPhone I smelled sake, Japanese wine on his breath. He took the photo and then we walked down the beautiful path of Japanese cherry trees. When we came back because it was starting to rain, the same man took a photo of us with his camera phone and continued to tell us about the statues that were in front of the temple. Only in Japan...
